Booktalk Tuesday: Mainspring

Did you know that the Earth is actually one giant clock- needing to be wound before disaster strikes and the world ends? If you don’t know this fact, it is probably because you have not read Mainspring by Jay Lake. Young Hethor Jacques get a visit from the Archangel Gabriel informing Hethor that he needs to find the Key Perilous, wind the Mainspring, and keep the Earth from ending. Simple, right? Not with evil magicians and assorted strange creatures that stand in his way. Fortunately, there’s a helpful librarian to guide him. This book is a fun, fantasy adventure suitable for a “spring” day.
